Medicinal form
Rectal suppositories. Main physicochemical properties: suppositories of dark brown color with the smell of ichthyol. The appearance of a barely noticeable white coating on the surface of the suppository is allowed.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. Ichthyol contains approximately 10.5% of sulfur in the form of organic compounds, which accounts for its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. The anti-inflammatory effect is associated with inhibition of the release of inflammatory mediators. When used rectally, the drug has an irritating effect on the mucous membrane of the rectum, due to which blood circulation in the pelvic organs reflexively increases, which contributes to the elimination of inflammation in the prostate gland in men; in the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus - in women. Pharmacokinetics. With rectal administration, it is well absorbed in the rectum. Excreted with feces.
Indication
In the complex treatment of pelvic inflammatory diseases (metritis, parametritis, salpingitis, adnexitis, oophoritis), chronic nonspecific prostatitis and hemorrhoids.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
The interaction of the drug in the form of suppositories with other medicinal products has not been described.
Features of use
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The drug can be used in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus (child). The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. There are no data.
Methods of application
Assign to adults. Administer 1 suppository rectally 1-2 times a day after a cleansing enema or after a normal act of defecation. The duration of the treatment course is determined by the doctor individually. Usually, the course of treatment is 7–14 days. In case of recurrence of the disease, repeat the course of treatment. Children. Do not apply to children.
