active ingredients: basic bismuth nitrate, basic magnesium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, powdered buckthorn bark, powdered yarrow rhizome, rutin, chelin; 1 tablet contains basic bismuth nitrate 350 mg, basic magnesium carbonate 400 mg, sodium hydrogen carbonate 200 mg, buckthorn bark in powder 25 mg, yarrow rhizomes in powder 25 mg, rutin 5 mg, celina 5 mg; excipients: potato starch, talc, stearic acid.

Tablets. Main physico-chemical properties: light brown tablets with inconspicuous inclusions, with a flat surface, beveled edges and a line.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics. The drug has a complex effect. Indication
As part of the complex therapy of functional dyspepsia, hyperacid gastritis, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum.
Contraindication
Increased sensitivity to the components of the drug. Marked disorders of kidney function. Gastritis with reduced secretory function of the stomach. Chronic inflammatory processes in the intestines. Chronic inflammatory processes in the gallbladder. Gastrointestinal bleeding. Acute sleep disorders. Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
During treatment with Vicalin, you should not take drugs containing bismuth to prevent an increase in the amount of bismuth in the blood. When using Vicalin, the resorptive effect of tetracyclines decreases, because when tetracyclines interact with drugs containing magnesium cations, complexes are formed that are poorly absorbed. It should not be used simultaneously with alkaloids, glycosides, enzyme preparations and antibiotics. The drug reduces the absorption of coumarin derivatives. It is possible to reduce the absorption of other drugs that are used together with Vicalin. Therefore, the time interval between taking the drugs should be at least 2 hours.
Features of use
You should not take antacid drugs and drink milk half an hour before and half an hour after taking the drug, because the existing gastric juice is needed to form a protective layer. Long-term use of bismuth compounds is not recommended due to the occurrence of encephalopathy in rare cases. If you follow the recommended regimen of taking the drug, the risk of this side effect is very small, but while taking this drug, it is not recommended to take other drugs containing bismuth. Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The drug is not used during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The ability to influence the speed of reaction when driving vehicles or other mechanisms. The effect of Vikalin on the ability to drive vehicles and other mechanisms has not been studied.
Methods of application
Adults should take 1-2 tablets 3 times a day, after meals, with ½ glass of warm water. It is recommended to crush the tablets before taking them. The duration of treatment is determined by the doctor depending on the nature and severity of the disease. Children. There is no experience of using Vicalin for children.
Overdose
It is manifested by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, the development of methemoglobinemia, swelling of the eyelids and gums. Treatment: symptomatic. Bismuth With frequent intake of large doses of the drug, an overdose of bismuth is possible, which can manifest after 10 days with symptoms characteristic of kidney failure (increased bismuth levels in the blood plasma). Side effects
